The United Nations originated with the idea of establishing a global and lasting security system during World War II. In 1941, Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Churchill proposed this idea. In 1943, the delegations of the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and China held a major diplomatic meeting in Moscow, aiming to establish a universal international organization for world security. Later, at the Tehran Conference, this international organization dedicated to maintaining world peace and development was named the "United Nations". Through efforts of various countries and discussions and voting, the "United Nations Charter" was ultimately adopted. It came into effect on October 24, 1945, marking the official establishment of the United Nations as the first international organization for maintaining post-war world peace and security.
