Mobike is a fully station-less bicycle-sharing system. It was created by Beijing Mobike Technology Co., Ltd and is currently deployed in several cities in China. It aims to solve "the last kilometre" issue for commuters. Every Mobike bicycle comes with an internet-controlled electronic wheel lock that automatically unlocks but requires manual locking after use. The bicycles are powered by a small generator installed on the rear wheel hub to power the lock. The patented disc brake is said to withstand over 10,000 kilometres of riding without failure.
