High school and college life have significant differences. In high school, classmates usually come from the same area, speaking the same dialect and sharing similar customs and habits. Thoughts might be relatively simple, and everyone has a common goal – getting into a good college. We study hard for this, getting up early and staying up late without feeling tired. The daily schedule is full but fulfilling. In college, classmates come from all over the place, each with their own unique background and customs. The language used for communication is mainly Mandarin. Besides, personalities and thoughts vary greatly among classmates. Classrooms and seats are not fixed, and there is no specific desk mate. The courses in college progress much faster. Sometimes half a book is covered in one class, while in high school, only one or two pages might be taught. High school life is monotonous yet substantial. College life is rich with various activities such as club activities, interpersonal communication, getting certificates and having romantic relationships, but the inner self might feel empty. In high school, roommates are often good friends. In college, roommates might just be classmates with a simple greeting.
